Basement Fire in San Jose
The charred beams and rafters in this San Jose basement show the blackened damage caused by an oil fire. SERVPRO strongly suggests to our neighbors to always store flammable materials in the right containers. Fortunately, there was no structural damage from this fire. The After Photo shows the transformation from burnt black to clean raw timbers. How? We have advanced equipment like a dry ice blaster. This device projects small dry ice pellets against the slightly charred wood surfaces. This removes the thin layer of charring without damaging the wood and certainly better than using a pressure washer which just adds water and another cleanup step to the service. We use a HEPA filtered air scrubber to capture the airborne debris from the abraiding of the raw lumber. "Like it never even happened."
